Jack Birgl

Jack Birgl

Jack Birgl, was born in Cherry Hill, NJ, on February 10, 1969. After a prolonged illness, he went home peacefully on July 20, 2026.

Raised in Delran, NJ, Jack graduated from Holy Cross High School in 1987. He pursued higher education at Gettysburg College, earning a degree in history and secondary education in 1991. Later, he obtained a master’s degree in special education from The College of New Jersey. This achievement paved the way for a fulfilling career dedicated to working with children with special needs, whom he affectionately referred to as his “kids.”

Jack’s passion for teaching and travel led him on a global journey, teaching and exploring various countries such as Casablanca, Morocco, and Shenzhen, China. He spent many years traveling the world, sharing his knowledge and experiences with students and colleagues alike.

An avid sports fan, Jack’s favorite time of the year was, hands down, football season. An ideal weekend was a game of poker while watching his Philadelphia Eagles and Alabama Crimson Tide. A game of hoops with his Bristol boys was always a fan favorite any time of year.

Jack was preceded in death by his biggest supporters and cheerleaders, his maternal grandparents, Jane and Bill Fish; paternal grandparents Karl Birgl and Mary Swope; his aunt and godmother, Betty; aunt Kathy; his uncle Bill; and his cousins, Dido, Brian, Kristin, and Michelle.

Jack is survived by his parents, Karl and Susan Birgl of Delanco, his brother, Jim of Peachtree City, GA, his nephews, Adam, Nathan, and Joshua Birgl, numerous cousins, and many loyal friends who will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Services for Jack will be private.
