Joseph Holland

Joseph Holland

He loved people. If Joe bumped into a stranger on the street, he’d spend an hour talking to them. He started in the banking world emptying the trash cans at night and worked his way up to Vice President of commercial loans. He was born and raised in South Philly; New Year’s Day found him strutting up Broad Street with his saxophone. He’d later move to Delran and Edgewater Park. At Newton Landing he enjoyed a little bocci and a little bowling. If his T.V. was on, he’d be checking in on Fox News or cheering for the Phils and Eagles.
He met a pretty girl on the train. Turned out that they worked close to each other. Joe and the late Dolores shared a 50-year marriage blessed by three children: April Duffey, Joe (Tracey) and Mike (Lisa); 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Come celebrate 86 great years Tuesday 9-10 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Joseph Church, Beverly. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park.
