Kenneth C. Shipton (Buzz)

Kenneth C. Shipton (Buzz) age 91. Ken was born Sept. 1, 1931 in Phila, Pa and passed away Jan. 11, 2023 at The Veterans Senior Memorial Home in Vineland, NJ. Ken was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War, he fought in the battle of The 1st Marine Division of the Frozen Chosin Reservoir. He was later employed with the Maritime Institute for more than thirty years. He worked as 1st Chief Mate Officer for the Merchant Marines before retiring. Ken was the father of eight children, Gail, Kenny, Eric (predecesed) Anne, Stephen (predecesed) Joan, Sandy, David, also 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. Ken was a avid reader, a proficient horse racing handicapper, and a ardent wood carver. Ken enjoyed crossword puzzles, Big Band Music and of course Frank Sinatra. He loved his animals and had many cats throughout his later years.

Come celebrate 91 years on April 13, 2023 from 11am-noon at Sweeney Funeral Home, 478 Cooper Street, Beverly NJ 08010. Interment Beverly National Cemetery, 916 Bridgeboro Rd, Beverly NJ 08010.
