Laura Roberts

Laura Roberts

She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at many nursing homes in the area but she found her real calling as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Fun times found her singing karaoke, usually featuring a duet of Summer Nights (Grease) with her life partner, Lewis. She could cook with the best of them; seafood and Italian, Lasagna being her signature dish. If her T.V. was on, she’d be checking in with Judge Mathis, People’s Court, Hot Bench and Law and Order. She bowled a little and played a little pool, more for spending time with family than anything competitive. She played music with her family, enjoyed arts and crafts and dabbled in oil painting.
She’d meet a handsome guy while having a few cordials at Perro’s. Her smile would win him over and they’d share 25 years together, settling in Willingboro. She is survived by her daughter, Melinda Roberts; grandchildren, Jazsmine Roberts, Arianna Roberts, and Janay Roberts; and great grandchildren, Tariq Roberts and Nahaii Barton and her sister, Theresa Marinella.
Come celebrate 61 great years Saturday March 22, 10-11 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, 478 Cooper Street Beverly where there will be an 11 a.m. service.
