Lois Ann Ryan

Lois Ann Ryan

Her happiest times found her relaxing on her back porch. Lois loved to be at her home watching the birds. She worked as a nurse: Lois gave care for many years at Zurbrugg Hospital as well as the County Jail and several area doctors’ offices. Of course, she found her real calling as a grandmother, doing everything from hanging out with them to teaching them to crochet. Over the years she had made an Afghan for just about everyone. And she was involved in her community as well: Lois volunteered with the Delanco EMS and gave tours of the Battleship New Jersey. She was a brilliant thinker and retained all kinds of facts: an asset when she watched her favorite show, Jeopardy. Outside of Jeopardy, if her T.V. was on she’d be rooting for the Phillies; they may have made her a touch angry from time to time but there were just as many shouts of joy over the years.
She was the mother of Debby Lynn Smiley (Ken), Kevin Ryan (Chrissy), Sharon Smith and Calleanne Anderson (Tom); grandmother of Dawn, Ryan, James, Emily, Lyndsey and Ian and great-grandmother of Robert, Ashley, Natalie, Elizabeth, Grant, Violetta and Jonah. She is also survived by her best buddy, Trea the dog (of course named after Trea Turner.) She had a soft spot in her heart for Grant, who she raised from his early years.
Family will celebrate 81 great years at a private memorial service.
