Marilyn Goodman

Marilyn Goodman

She lived to age 93 but had the spirit of a millennial. If she had trouble with the cell phone it was no problem. She simply called to Alexa to make the call. Facebook kept her up to date with family activities. Marilyn didn’t want to go she wanted to be part of her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s lives forever. Going on “diner dates “ enjoying trips to Atlantic City and cheerleading at special Olympic events were her cup of tea. Sixteen years ago she became almost totally blind. That did not stop her from reading those mystery books she so enjoyed. Books for the Blind had a hard time keeping her supplied. One granddaughter called at 2am when Twilight Zone aired so they could experience it together. Marilyn was a member of Temple Har Zion in Mount Holly for many years. As a young girl Marilyn volunteered at USO dances. It was at one of those affairs that she met Arnold her late husband. They danced together for the next 50 years. They were blessed with three children: Mark (Meryl), Andrea Kennedy (Irby) and Dana Astley (David), 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Come celebrate her 93 positive and smiling years Tuesday October 15 at Crescent Memorial Park, Pennsauken where there will be a 1pm graveside service. Under the direction of Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside.
