Marita King-Hass

Marita was born and raised in Bremen, Germany. She was hardheaded and stubborn, but that didn’t stop her from being good-hearted. She enjoyed listening to German music and watching German movies. When she would cook up one of her German meals it wouldn’t be until midafternoon, but it was always a great feast. She continued to stay in contact with her good friend, Irene, from Germany as well.

Marita opened her home to everyone. She decorated her home with house plants and loved them like her own children. When she went away, she would demand “water my plants!” to whomever was taking care of her home. Marita loved having friends and family come to visit her in her home. Her grandchildren brought chaos and laughter that she enjoyed more than anything.

Marita Is survived by her children: Leslie (Michele) King, Stephen (Shelly) King, and Tina (Lewis) Meredith; grandchildren: Stephen Jr, Stephanie, David, Les, Ashley, and Caitlin; 19 great- grandchildren; and her cousins in Germany and Indiana. She was predeceased by her son Melvin, first husband Melvin and the late Herman Hass.

Come celebrate 87 great years on Monday July 24, 2023, from 6:00pm-7:30pm, where there will be a 7:30pm service at Sweeney Funeral Home, 478 Cooper Street, Beverly NJ 08010. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to BCAS at 35 Academy Drive Westampton, NJ 08060 BCAS.
