Mary D’Agostino
Mary was known for her warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family and friends.Mary had a passion for life’s simple pleasures. On Sunday afternoons in the summer, you could find her cheering on the Phillies while sipping her favorite Coke and indulging in potato chips. Her mornings were brightened by the aroma of Maxwell House coffee, a ritual she cherished.
In her kitchen, Mary’s talent truly shined. Sunday dinners were her specialty, where she lovingly prepared spaghetti and meatballs for her family to enjoy. Her home was a sanctuary, meticulously kept with a place for all her special belongings, especially her beloved Snowman collection. Mary took pride in cooking and cleaning, always ensuring her loved ones felt welcomed and cared for. She found joy in replacing her loveseats and sofas.
Throughout her life, Mary held various jobs, including roles at McMillians, Seagull Lighting, Costume Gallery, and Chriswell. She often rode her bike to work. In her younger years, she would create beautiful crochet afghan blankets, each stitch a testament to her warmth and generosity. Mary also worked as a shampooer at Christine’s for several years, leaving a lasting impression on all she encountered. Even in her later years, Mary continued to spread joy and positivity. During her time at the nursing home, she brightened the days of fellow residents, making friends wherever she went.
Mary’s love for holidays, particularly Easter and Christmas, was unparalleled. She cherished gatherings at Joe and Joann’s house, surrounded by family and festive cheer. Mary and her late husband, Anthony D’Agostino, shared 60 wonderful years together, raising two sons, Joseph (Joann) and Michael. She adored her grandchildren, Kaytlynn, Brianna, Michael, Michelle, Rachael, and Anthony, as well as her great-grandchildren, Colton and Raylynn. Mary is survived by her sister, Alice Monastero, and will be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Come celebrate 82 great years on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 9am-10am at Sweeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside NJ, where there will be a 10am service. Interment St Peter’s Cemetery, Riverside.
