There is on occasion, in every great long while, a glorious light that is so pure, so benevolent, and so beautiful that it is decided it must be shared with all humankind. This light was sent here to show everyone that peace, kindness and beauty can exist in a world seemingly devoid of such splendor.
For those who behold such a beautiful sight, they are drawn in, transfixed by its beauty and goodness, so much so, that it is hard to pull away. Everyone who is fortunate enough to experience this light, are changed for the better, if only for a brief moment. For some lucky individuals, they get to experience this nurturing goodness for many years.
There also comes a time this light must return from whence it came. Whether this goodness and light are then shared again or whether the light awaits to be reunited with the lives it has touched while here, it remains to be seen, but one thing is certain, the world has become just a little darker once that light is gone.
On this day, July 31, 2026, our beautiful light has been called home.
Mary Ellen Wolbert (nee Ruza) leaves behind a loving, caring, and devoted husband of over 30 years, Richard Wolbert and the love of her life, her beautiful son, Samuel Wolbert. She is also survived by her sister Karen A Ruza, her sister-in-law, Karen L. Ruza, sister-in-law Mary Mervine (Wolbert) her fiancé Ed O’Neill, brother-in-law Lewis Wolbert, his wife, Flora Wolbert (Centrella), nephews Richard Ainslie, Robert Ainslie, Christopher Ainslie, niece Tabitha Ainslie and bonus niece, Jamie Centrella, as well as many many friends.
She is predeceased by her father, TSgt August T. Ruza and her mother, Lillian Ruza (nee Vryhof), her father-in-law, Lewis B. Wolbert, her mother-in-law, Mary E. Wolbert (nee Johnson), her brother John T Ruza and brothers-in-law James B Wolbert, and Robert Mervine.
Mary holds an Associates Degree in Chemistry and was attending Drexel University for a B.S. in Material Sciences when she met the love of her life. Mary worked for many companies, Kay Jewelers, Telegenix, Hemostatix Medical, Electro Science Laboratories, Lamina Ceramics, Garmar Industries, she was a former member of the Beverly City Board of Education, and current member of the Beverly Sewerage Authority, but of all her life’s tasks she enjoyed being a wife and mom the most of all.
Mary loved all things in nature and could be frequently found in nature. One of her favorite outdoor activities is something she called forest bathing, where she would just go for a hike to soak in the wonders of nature to let it heal her. She also loved Longwood Gardens, botanical gardens, taking walks through the garden at home, or just sitting in the fire light while staring at the stars.
We will forever miss her beautiful smile, her beautiful mind, her wonderful laughter, her loving and caring nature and her wonder of all things of creation.
The family is asking everyone to be a positive light in this world, to carry on what Mary started. Be kind and share joy wherever you go, to whomever you meet. Continue to share her light. That’s all she ever wanted for this world.
