Maryann Saia

With heavy hearts we sadly inform you that Maryann Saia, age 90, originally from Cambridge, (Riverside) New Jersey, passed away on July 5, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband John after 53 years of marraige. Presently she was living in Bonita Springs, Florida in the care of her daughter Lisa. She is survived by her 3 children, John Saia (Marie), Deborah Saia, and Lisa Price; her brother Joseph Karwacki (predeceased by wife Patricia) and sister Joanne Seddon; her grandson Justin Price (Alyssa); her two great grandsons, JJ and Carsen Price, who will miss their visits with their GiGi; several nieces and nephews (predeceased by niece Patty Fenton), great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; along with cousins and a number of long time friends, including her dear friend Sandy Lehmann with whom she looked forward to talking to on daily phone calls about anything and everything.

In her career, Maryann dedicated 21 years of devoted service to the students of the Burlington County Special Services School District. Her years there brought her many fond memories of the students she encountered and their successes she had a role in.

For leisure in her younger adult years she enjoyed league bowling with her husband on Friday nights and hearty games of couple’s Pinochle at  ‘Aunt Catherine’s ‘ every Saturday night. She was a wonderful cook and everyone looked forward to Maryann’s special recipes. Family and friends enjoyed visiting at the parties and picnics at her house. She loved to have company there for no special reason at all. And if you really knew her, you knew her heart for giving to others and you appreciated the joy it gave her.

In honor of Maryann, please join us for a gathering and a service of remembrance to be held at Sweeney’s Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside, NJ. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Maryann’s favorite charity, Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis,TN    38105
