Russell Cripps

Russell Cripps

A proud graduate of Penn State, Russell’s analytical mind and steady hands were always at work—whether tinkering with model trains beneath the Christmas tree, leading Boy Scout adventures, or charting RV trips across the country. A dedicated Boy Scout leader alongside Brian and his brother, Gary, he was especially proud to have earned the rank of Eagle Scout, a symbol of his perseverance and commitment to service.

Russell found joy in life’s simplest and grandest moments. From quiet mornings fishing saltwater with his father aboard their boat, to cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers, he embraced his passions with heart. Camping trips to Ocean View, Yogi Bear, Lancaster, and Hershey were staples of his family life—memories marked by campfires, stories, and laughter. Summer getaways to Wildwood became cherished traditions, filled with sunshine and the company of loved ones.

A man of wide interests, he was an enthusiastic Civil War buff, a collector of knowledge, and a fan of shows like Wicked Tuna, Extreme RVs, and the ever-entertaining QVC. Whether immersed in history or scouting the latest gadget, Russell’s curiosity never waned.

Following his retirement Russell hit the road in a RV, fulfilling a lifelong dream to see the country, including a memorable journey to the Grand Canyon. These travels were some of the happiest chapters of his life. Of all his joys, none compared to the pride and happiness he found in his grandchildren. Their visits brought him unmatched delight, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Russell served our nation in the Air Force.

Russell is survived by his children: Russell Jr (Kathy) and Brian; grandchildren: Emma, Hannah, Bella, and Mason; and his sister: Karen (Tony) DeAngelo, He was predeceased by his wife Betty Lou, daughter Amy (Anthony), and brother Gary.
