Thomas August DeBarber

Thomas August DeBarber

Tom’s love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. A dedicated family man, Tom made it a priority to visit his grandkids in California and Oregon. His grandkids would also come and visit him on the east coast creating unforgettable memories. He was always up for an adventure, taking his grandchildren on various journeys to explore and enjoy the beauty of the East and West Coasts. Tom was known for his infectious humor, particularly his fondness for dad jokes and his silly, light-hearted nature. He had a passion for old western shows, movies, Bigfoot lore, and the classic TV show MASH. Though he wasn’t much of a cook, he loved to BBQ and enjoyed dining at local diners with his friends, savoring the simple pleasures of life. Tom was a proud veteran who served his country with honor and dedication. He was a patent holder and an unpublished author, having written a book about his experiences in Vietnam. His stories and wisdom, although never formally published, left a lasting impact on those who were fortunate enough to hear them. Tom’s nickname, Bo, given to him as a child, remains a cherished mystery. Nonetheless, it was a name that suited his warm and loving personality perfectly.

Tom is survived by his partner Gail and her family, his daughters Cindy (Brad) Hutchison and Christy Red (Nathanael Jones), his grandchildren Emily, Tommy, Kiana, Colby, and Lyric, his nephews David (Mariann) Snow and Ronald (Laurie) Snow, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Come celebrate 77 great years on Friday July 5th from 8am to 9am at Sweeney Funeral Home 337 Bridgeboro St Riverside. Internment immediately to follow at Brigadier William C. Doyle Cemetery in Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: supportwoundedwarriorproject.org
