CURRENT CELEBRATIONS

William C Goodwin

William C Goodwin

Prior to 30 years of service as an engineer with the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company, he proudly served four in the United States Airforce. He enjoyed quality time with his family. Everyone knew his family always came first: he found his real calling late in life as a pop-pop and great-pop-pop: Bill never missed a birthday or graduation. He cooked a mean breakfast and enjoyed his Manhattans . Of course he always stayed active in his community: He was Kiwanis President, involved in Holy Name Society at St Pete’s, and was in a sportsman club. Relaxing times found him out on the boat, fishing down LBI.
He’d meet a pretty girl named Claire at a dance in Delanco. It was a natural place for them to meet: Their dancing was one of their greatest pleasures. Claire was number one, second to none and then some. Their 70 year marriage was blessed by his children: Kathy (Tommy) Winklespecht, Cindy(Chris) Petti, Chrissy(Brian) Johnson, Corinne (Mark) Wright, Carolyn (Thomas) Polino, Cheryl Hansberry, and Bill Goodwin; and later by grandchildren: Charlene (Erik) Sendel, Matthew (Kelly) Winklespecht, Chelsea (Cody) Lilly, Rachel (Joe) Waldman, Nick (Mamie Bishop) Petti, Amy (Shawn)Pfeiffer, Richie(Casey) Manco, Carmine (Lisa) Cesare, Amber Johnson, Briana (Rick) Kaminski, Mark Wright, Eric Wright, Shannon Pirylis, Nick Polino, Marissa Polino, Brittany(Joey) Markiewicz, and Jack(Cait) Hansberry, Bill Goodwin, Samantha Goodwin, ; and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Nixon and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Come celebrate 92 great years Monday October 30, 8-10a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish (St Casimir site), Riverside.  Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery.
