Everyone knows the mom who bakes cookies and showers her children with huge displays of love; Charlene was not one of these moms. Her love for her children and grandchildren was shown through smaller acts (Most famously, a strong ear-tug while ordering: “Stop being a smarta$$ and come over here and give me a kiss”). Charlene was not known to sugarcoat things, and her children and grandchildren could always count on her to give tough-love advice. She enjoyed playing cards with her lady friends and spoiling her feline kids, Indigo & Sable. And even moving to North Carolina could not dampen her desire to root on her home town Phillies. In her younger days, Charlene was a jetsetter, visiting far off places like China, Australia, New Zealand, England, Ireland and Germany. As the oldest of six children, Charlene was a fiercely independent, stubborn leader. Her “my way or the highway” attitude permeated every aspect of her life, including her many years as manager at Kingswick Apartments and her fierce final battle with breast cancer. In the end, she didn’t give up and she didn’t give in, she just changed her mind. rnrnShe is survived by her children: Susan Roundy (Dennis) of Odenton, MD, Walter Harvey (Jennifer) of Havelock, NC, Charlene Stuhltrager (Gary) of Mt. Royal, NJ and Daniel Pallacovitch (Mary) of West Deptford, NJ, Sisters – Diane, Mary & Cathy, Brothers – Paul & Charles, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.rnrnCome celebrate 73 great years Wednesday 10 to 11 a.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio, where there will be a service at 11:00.
