Charlotte Eager

You never had to guess what Charlotte was thinking: she was direct to a fault. She had been taught how to cook by a neighbor when she was young and never lost the flair: her family ate well, especially spaghetti and meatballs. She loved to cheer for the Phillies and from years of watching her son play, she had the knowledge to watch intelligently. Of course, if it wasn’t going well for them, she’d shut the T.V. off and walk away. She volunteered her time working the Treasure Trove at the Masonic Home and was a member of the Eastern Star. If her T.V. was on, she’d be checking out old game shows and the Hallmark Channel and she enjoyed a little Candy Crush. If she left the area, it was most likely to head down to the casinos to battle the slots. Earlier years found her working as an administrative assistant for adult probation and she worked for some years at Heals Farm Market. She was a graduate of Burlington High School and previously lived in Burlington Township before moving to Delanco.
In High School she’d meet a handsome boy. She and the late Richard shared a 62-year marriage blessed by three children: Sherry (Peter) Spezzano, JoAnn Newell and Steven (Susan Davis); and later by grandchildren, Pete (Lisa), David, Stacy (Mike), and Jillian and great-grandchildren, Vincent, Giovanni, Aurora, Vivienne, and Penelope.
Family will celebrate 86 great years privately. Memorial donations to The Cat’s Meow Rescue (catsmeownj.org) will be appreciated.

As a lifelong family friend, I send my love and remembrances. Our moms are our moms and will always be close to mind and in our hearts.

I remember Charlotte from when we were both members at Beverly United Methodist Church. I was in charge of Christian Education and got the idea for a class/support group for widows. Although she was not a widow and certainly younger than any of the women in the group, Charlotte volunteered to lead the group, which became known as “Eager’s Angels”. She was a wonderful leader and definitely had a positive impact on the lives of her class and the rest of the congregation.

in the six months that I knew you Charlotte I learned many things. I learned about baseball, football, and many things about gardening. but the thing that I will hold dearest is the immediate bond and friendship that we had. The love that you had for Tori, your kitty cat, was very real. it made me so happy that Tori started to trust me during the last several months. I also gained a new friend , Kathy, because of you. you couldn’t have picked a better person to continue to love Tori and it also gives me the opportunity to stay in her life as well. I will miss you dearly but it does warm my heart that you are back with your husband who I know you loved unconditionally.
