June 22, 1968 – April 12, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dawn Marie Wintjen (nee Cannon), a cherished sister and beloved friend and co-worker on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Dawn was 56 years old.
Dawn was born on June 22, 1968 in Levittown, Pennsylvania. She attended Harry S. Truman High School where she made many friends. Dawn worked for many years as a Patient Service Representative at CHOP in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Most recently Dawn was employed as a Manager at the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market where her customers absolutely adored her!
Dawn was known for her infectious laughter, her unwavering support of family and friends, and her kind heart. She found much joy in watching television, decorating her home for holidays, sitting on her front porch and talking to neighbors, and spending time with her dog Cheech and her family and friends. Dawn was an avid fan of trips to the casinos, especially Parx in Bensalem, and she was a lover of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and ice cream.
Dedicated daughter and stepdaughter of the late Carmela and Francis McCarthy, Jr., loving sister of Frank McCarthy (Jacquelyn) and Fred McCarthy (Virginia), adoring Aunt of Charlotte, Phoebe, Jack and Ryan McCarthy, Dog Mom to Cheech, and close friend to a very many. Dawn is predeceased by her son Nicholas Wintjen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington, May 16, 2025 at 2 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dawn’s memory to the Melanoma Research Alliance at www.curemelanoma.org.
Dawn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
