Edward Anthony Abriola Sr.

Edward Anthony Abriola Sr.

A devout family man, Edward cherished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was stern but deeply loving, always providing guidance with a firm hand and a compassionate heart. There was no gray area in Ed’s life – he saw the world in black and white, and his principles guided his every action. Ed found immense joy in his role as a reverend, delighting in officiating weddings and bringing laughter as he dressed as a clown, blending ministry with fun in a way that touched countless lives. He took great pleasure in watching his grandchildren play, valuing their imagination over material possessions and treasuring every moment spent with them. Television brought Ed moments of relaxation and enjoyment, particularly through shows like “FBI,” “NCIS,” and the uplifting melodies of Gather Christian Music. He was also known for his acts of kindness, whether it was cutting a neighbor’s grass or taking out their trash, embodying the spirit of generosity and community. At home, Ed was Mr. Fix-It, tirelessly working to ensure everything was in working order, though his own needs often came last. He met the love of his life Millie, on a serendipitous encounter through his brother. Their enduring love was a testament to their commitment to each other and their shared faith in Jesus Christ.

Edward is survived by his wife Millie, their 7 children, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Come celebrate 87 great years Monday June 17th from 9am to 10am at Sweeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

My friend, pastor, minister for our wedding almost 30 years ago, clowned around with them with many miraculous demonstrations of sharing and shouting out the name of Jesus either from songs or preaching! Love and prayers to the whole family. I’m looking for pictures.

    Psalm 23:4
    King James Version

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
