Euphemia SmartrnBarclay Adamson RealernEuphemia “Effie” Reale passed away at home Saturday, June 4, 2011. She was 85.rnBorn in Riverside and recently of Delran, Effie was the daughter of Euphemia Smart Barclay Adamson and William Banks Adamson.rnShe was the mother of Samuel “Skip” Reale Jr., and his wife, Gayla of Mount Holly, and Chris Reale of Riverside. She is survived by three grandchildren: Douglass William Reale, Christopher W. Reale Jr., and Nicholas Ryan Reale. Effie is also survived by her sister, Mina “Bonnie” Singer and her husband, Henry of Edgewater Park; nephew, Henry W. Singer and niece, Candice Tracy Singer; as well as her fiance, Domenick Valentino of Southampton.rnShe is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Scott Mitchell Reale; and her granddaughter, Bethany Joan Reale.rnEffie placed a high value on education and fulfilled her lifelong dream of earning a Bachelor of Arts degree when she graduated from Glassboro State College in 1987 at age 61.rnShe was active in the community and served as a Den Mother in Cub Scout Pack 35. She also served two terms on the Riverside Board of Education, including service as president of the Board. rnEffie worked throughout her life, including wartime employment with the Pennsylvania Railroad. Her last employment was as the Human Resources supervisor at New Lisbon State School. She retired in 2001.rnThroughout her life, Effie was an avid reader. She was a licensed amateur radio operator (WB2EHN) and a past member of the Amateur Radio Relay League.rnShe enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas and Walt Disney World. rnFamily and friends will celebrate Effie’s life on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside.
