Francis C. Gatti, Jr.

1/16/1948 – 10/21/2023

Frank was a loving husband and father, a role model to those who knew him, and a true friend.

Born in Riverside, he attended St. Peter’s, Holy Cross High School and LaSalle University. After college, he was a member of the NJ National Guard for six years, during which time he earned a Masters from City University of NY, got married, began working for the State of NJ, and started a family.  For more than 30 years, he worked for the State of NJ in OMB and the Division of Revenue, where he served as President of AGA and ASPA, and was actively involved in those organizations over the years. Frank earned a Masters from Temple and his law degree from Rutgers.  He provided legal counsel to many family members, friends and colleagues in the 30 years he practiced as an attorney.

Frank loved his family, friends, and the Phillies. For many years, he coached baseball, basketball and softball for his kids. He was actively involved in YMCA’s Indian Guides and Indian Princesses.  Friends will remember Gatti pool parties over the years. He and Margie took their kids to many Phillies games in the 40 years they had season tickets. He loved to travel with his family, but his favorite place was Wildwood Crest.

He was actively involved in Holy Name Parish in Delran, serving as a Eucharistic minister, on the finance committee, and as a member of Perpetual Adoration for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 52 years Margie (Costa); children, Kristina, Robert (Shannon), Francis III (Kimberly); grandchildren, Jacob, Brandon, Ariana, Ryan; and his brother Robert (Theresa). He was pre-deceased by his parents, Frank Sr. and Marie.

A special thank you to all who helped care for him in the final months of his life: the Samaritan Hospice team, especially Jovie, Amy, and Lisa, sister-in-law Patti, and Del.

Come celebrate 75 years Saturday, October 28, 8-10 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, Holy Name Church, Delran.  Entombment St. Peter’s Cemetery, Riverside.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of NJ or the Richmond Walk to End Alzheimer’s team: Frank’s Friends (Alzheimer’s Association c/o Richmond Walk staff, 4600 Cox Rd.
