Jean Traughber

She loved people. For Jean, a quick trip to the supermarket could last hours. Didn’t matter if she knew you or not; she chatted up everyone she saw. No surprise that she spent 35 years as an LPN: her constant smile was the best medicine. She spent most of her career at Zurbrugg (11 a.m. to 7 p.m. shift) and later worked at Lourdes Willingboro. Her real calling was found late in life, that of a grandmother. All the grands believed they were her favorite. They were right. And she spread the good news at Calvary Presbyterian Church (deacon for 7 years, bell choir, junior worship superintendent and women’s prayer group). When she left her home, you could be sure she was dressed to the nines, her clothing, hair and makeup all perfect. Jean was only ever known to have one vice, shopping. Sure, she spent a little too much money, but she’d proudly explain how much she saved in coupons and sales. Christmas was her holiday: thirty tins of cookies to tempt you in the weeks before, but she also loved holidays in general if for no other reason than to sport her holiday earrings and pins. If her T.V. was on, she’d most likely be watching Judge Judy mete out a little justice. She loved Betty Boop, Neil Diamond, and collecting teacups and pots. Special occasions found her at the New Leaf Tea Room where she recently celebrated her 70th birthday. Her happiest times found her heading off for vacation with George and the grands; her “vacation” bags packed and ready for every conceivable problem. Jean was a Palmyra resident for over 20 years and then moved to Cinnaminson where she resided for the remainder of her life.

She’d meet a handsome guy named George and the two would share a 27-year marriage. Jean is survived by her daughters, Kelly Jean Blow (Wayne) and Erin K Lovern; her grandchildren, Taylor, Lexi, Elizabeth and Adyn; her sisters, Pat Nutt (Larry) Terri Roth (Bill); many loving nieces and nephews and her
beloved cats, Ginger and Abby.

Come celebrate 70 great years Thursday 9-11 a.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church, Riverton where there will be an 11 a.m. service. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Cinnaminson. Donations to Calvary Presbyterian Church, 300 4th Street, Riverton 08077 will be appreciated.
