Mary set priorities in her life: her first was God followed by family and then her Church family. She gave her best to each. At Bethesda U-M Church in Swedesboro Mary gave over 40 years as a Sunday school teacher and 50 as President of the Tri C class. Not all functions were serious. Mary was known to pull off a “come as you are” party. That meant just that. If you were still in nightwear come that way. If a lady had her hair in curlers so what. She was a true believer with a bit of fun in her nature. When Kings Things opened Mary of course volunteered and coordinated the store for 9 years. In her spare time she waitressed at the Howard Johnson restaurant on the NJ turnpike for 23 years. She never spoke unkind words of anyone.rnrnA blind date where the man was a substitute for the first turned into a true love affair. The late Merritt, aka The Boy, told Mary on that date they would marry. He was right. They were blessed with a son, William and his wife, Charlotte and a daughter Judith Senske, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. rnrnCome celebrate 94 Jesus centered years Wednesday from 9:30 to 11AM at Bethesda U-M Church, 1435 Kings Hwy., Swedesboro where the Service will be at 11AM.
