A salesman minus enthusiasm is just a clerk, and John never lacked enthusiasm. He could take a nickel and sell it for 10 cents. But it never made him crooked. While selling cars for Distasio Chevy in Marlton he was known for his honesty. And his portfolio of repeat customers was a testimonial to this. You’d notice his zeal for cooking as soon as you entered his home; the Food Network was always on, he was always cooking with vegetables he grew himself and it wasn’t enough to just try his food, he expected you to critique it and take some home to enjoy later. He loved his sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, but he had enough character that people liked him anyway. A true Irishman, you’d see how passionate he was if you mentioned politics or religion. However, in his younger years he’d rather take you to the track or bowling. When he was older he would invite you to watch sports on T.V and enjoy a display of appetizers followed by dinner and desert. rn John is survived by his wife Honorine (nee Thiele), of Delran. During their 43 year marriage the two have been inseparable. He is survived by one daughter, plus four daughters and two sons by a previous marriage, 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. rnJohn’s 83 wonderful years (Oct. 16, 1928 – November 5, 2011) were celebrated with the full enjoyment of life. Services and interment are private. Memorial donations may be made in his name to National Breast Cancer Foundation 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300 Frisco, TX 75034. rn –
