John was a loving son, brother, and uncle who brought laughter and warmth to those around him. When he wasn’t working hard as a mechanic, a career that he dedicated 35 years to at Palermo’s Automotive, beginning at the young age of 17, he cherished spending time with his niece and nephews. When the kids were young, he would often take them to the local diner for breakfast on the weekends, creating memories they would always hold dear. John loved animals and had a soft spot for his dogs, always giving them treats like Slim Jims. John also knew how to enjoy life, whether it was sharing a beer, lighting up a smoke, or simply having a good time with the people he loved. And, he was known for having strong hands, which he demonstrated with a firm handshake that you wouldn’t forget.
John was predeceased by his brothers, Ward and Peter, his father, Paul, and his mother, Eileen. He is survived by his loving sisters, Ann (Billy), Eileen, and Ashley, as well as his nephews, Michael and Joseph, his niece, Alyssa, and his fur niece, Charlie. He also leaves behind many great-nieces and great-nephews, along with his aunts and cousins, all of whom will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
John’s sister Ann was the sister he could always count on for a good time, while Eileen was the sister he could always count on to make sure everything was taken care of. In his last few years, he was lucky to have Eileen by his side—advocating for him, taking care of him, and making sure he had everything he needed. John was truly blessed to have sisters who stood by his side and cared for him until the very end.
John lived by a simple but strong motto—never take any shit and always stand your ground. His presence, humor, and kind heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

I only knew John for 3 years, but got to know him well. He kept me on my toes to say the least. His will is strong, when he got something in his mind he wasn’t happy until he accomplished it. He will truly be missed, not just by me but a crew of people. REST IN PEACE Brother…
