Kathy was a resident of Riverside for many years where she volunteered at St Peter’s Parish and was known for her voice. Pitch perfect from an early age, her musical talents included high school musicals at Holy Cross High School, leading voice in the Glee Club at Holy Family College, participation in such events as the Messiah with the Philadelphia Philharmonic and, believe it or not, actually sang in a rock group and cut a record. But Kathy’s greatest musical love was that of a Cantor at St. Peter’s, Holy Name and St. Joseph’s. Most Saturdays and Sundays found her singing like an angel.
Kathy was a dedicated teacher in the Willingboro School District as a Special Education teacher on multiple levels from pre-kindergarten to being a dedicated high school advocate for students with special needs. After retirement she continued to work within the county as a consultant for testing of special needs students. Earlier years found her teaching and lifeguarding at the Willingboro pools and she was a member of the board at the Riverdel pool. Of course, her real calling was as a grandmother: she was a built-in babysitter and spent many an hour entertaining the grands in games. She loved the occasional vacations: usually Ocean City and none were better than with the Mongos. She was a graduate of Holy Cross High School, earned a bachelor’s from Holy Family University and a master’s from Trenton State
At a dojo, she’d meet a handsome instructor named Bill. Their 47-year marriage was blessed by two daughters, Angela (Michael) Parise and Sara Robinson; and later by grandchildren Rocco Parise, Carter Parise, Max Parise, Sasha Paige, Steven Paige Jr, Searra Paige and Shianne Paige. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Ann Ruehmling Saunders (Rick) and their son Rick, and Margaret Ruehmling Ericksen and her 2 daughters, Rikilee and Dana. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, William (Bill) and Stella Ruehmling and her brother, Joe Ruehmling.
Come celebrate 74 great years Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday 10-11 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be an 11 a.m. service. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Association (Alz.org) will be appreciated.

Oh I’m so sorry for the family if this wonderful lady!
Kathy was so sweet. I am so sorry for your loss.
Kathy was a wonderful classmate at Holy Cross High School. I only wish I had known her in years after that, but I have been out of NJ since then. She has a very loving and fruitful life. I am sure that she is missed by all who knew her. You are all in my prayers.
Bill, so very sorry to hear about your wife passing. No matter what, never ready to say goodbye.
Know that the love and memories in your heart will always keep her close.
My deepest sympathies and prayers are with you.
May God Bless.
Bob Ulrich
Kathy and I would work together with occasional child study cases in the township of willingboro
Kathy was a sweetheart throughout her entire life. She was loving, generous, and very, very talented. I went to both high school and college with Kathy and stayed in touch over many years while she stayed in New Jersey and I moved out to California. We both had two daughters each, about the same ages, who actually did meet once while they were all in grade school. Bill, my heart goes out to you and to the girls. You were the love of her life and she had so much love to give. She was a beautiful person in absolutely every way.
Heartfelt sorry for your loss. Kathy was a wonderful, kind, loving person. Love & Prayers to all the family.
I remember how much I enjoyed singing with Kathy in the St. Peter’s/St. Joseph’s choir.
We will miss her, a lovely lady.
Condolences to Bill and the girls. I have fond memories of Kathy and our time on Lippincott Ave. I will never forget her beautiful voice and how loving she was . She blessed everyone who ever heard her sing . Sorry I cannot make services, but hope to see you in the future. Much love to all the family .
It has taken Skip and me a few days to try to find just the right words about Kathy. We still can’t find them. We met Kathy, Bill, & Angie when our daughter Kristen started kindergarten with her at St Peter’s. We became fast friends with them. Angie, Sara & Michael are family too. Kathy’s face & her wonderful laugh were even richer when the grandchildren arrived. Kathy had a magnificent gift in her voice. She loved to share it with everyone, St Joseph’s Choir is not the same without her. Bill, to you, your kids, and grandchildren – we’re praying for all of you. The happy memories will replace your heartbreak because you always have been the love of her life . We have been blessed also to be able to be her friend and a part of the Robinson Family.
Love to all of you ! Skip & Dot
That’s wonderful – we love Kathy Bill and all the family. Angie & Kristen have remained close to each other from kindergarten, thru Drexel, through their marriages, babies born and currently continue this wonderful in Maryland. We have fun memories of being with Kathy Bill & kids Christmas nights from Kristen’s home. I could ( as you correctly indicated typed too much and have left some treasured memories. PLEASE let Kathy’s family “edit “ it – it matters what comments mean the most to THEM & THEM ONLY
I have not seen Kathy in so many years, but I clearly remember her. We attended Holy Cross High School, and although I was not in her class, Kathy was always special, so kind and thoughtful to me as an under classmate .We were in the Spring Musicals, along with Mary Ann, and oh what a voice Kathy was blessed with! My deepest sympathy for this tremendous loss to all of Kathy’s Family.
