Margaret Mary (Barr) Dmochowski, of Riverside, NJ, passed away Saturday, Nov.21, 2009 at the age of 86. rnMargaret was a life-long resident of Riverside, investing her life, love, and energies in the community and people who surrounded her. Educated in Riverside, she graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1941, after serving as vice-president of her senior class, and president of the National Honor Society. Her activates spanned the full dimensions of academic and athletic endeavors throughout her high school days, always acting as a leader in sports, music, theater, and service groups.rnFollowing high school, Margaret worked for the Delaware River Water Company before marrying her husband of 59 years, Julian, in 1943. She and Julian began their primary life endeavor, that of raising their family of nine children in 1944, with Margaret making her priorities in life being her devotion to her family, husband, and God.rnMargaret was an energetic person, and throughout her years as the “stay-at-home mom”, she worked for years as PTA president (St. Casimir School), as a volunteer parent associated with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts, as well as being involved in several adult church groups within St. Casimir Parish.rnFor years, she was a Eucharistic Minister and was involved with the St. Casimir parish advisory council. Margaret also belonged to the Altar-Rosary Society, Third Order of St. Francis, and tirelessly worked for the success of the Church’s fundraisers in support of the parish she so fondly enjoyed. Beyond the confines of her domestic life, as her family matured, Margaret also worked at the family liquor store, and for Collier-MacMillan Publishing Company before assuming a position as Director of Admissions at Zurbrugg Memorial Hospital, in Riverside. Margaret was also involved with several other community groups, including the ladies auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, the Democratic Party, some girls clubs, and many more.rnMargaret’s husband, Julian, passed away in 2003. She was surrounded by her children: Dr. John (Susan) of Cape Cod, MA, Rosemary Porter (Fred) of Doylestown, PA, Dr. Constance Vink (Dr. Marc) of Riverton, NJ, Theresa Seader (William) of Evans, GA, Julian (Susan) of Riverside, NJ, Michael (Rhonda) of Delanco, NJ, Anne Raven (John), of Cinnaminson, NJ, Gregory, of Atco, NJ, and Daniel (Denise) of Wall, NJ. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Margaret was sister to the late Rose Marie Coburn of Duarte, CA and the late William Barr of Cinnaminson, NJ.rnFriends and family are invited to participate in a celebration of Margaret’s life on Tuesday, Nov. 24 from 6-8pm, or on Wednesday, Nov. 25 from 10:30 to 11:30 at Sweeney Funeral Home in Riverside, NJ. A mass of Christian burial will follow the viewing at noon in St. Casimir Church in Riverside.
