Mary C. Detwiler died Friday, August 30, at her home in Beverly. She was 81.
Born Mary Catherine Janson and raised in Burlington, she married the late William R. Detwiler in 1958, her husband of 43 years. She spent all of her married life in Beverly, where they raised two children, Sharon (Detwiler) Goldy and Mike Detwiler.
Mary was a member of the Beverly Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and spent countless hours sharing her beliefs with others, showing loving attention and providing a listening ear to family and friends. She always shared positive and encouraging advice based on the Bible, which she loved to read and share with others.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Wayne Goldy; her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Elizabeth Detwiler; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Nancy Janson and William and Charlotte Janson; her sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Robert Rogers; sister-in-law Margaret Janson; brother-in-law Alfred Diamanti; and sister-in-law Bertha Manecio; as well as five grandsons, Jared, Nathan, (Genevieve), Seth, Dan and Eric Goldy and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 7 at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 907 Poplar Street, Burlington, NJ. All are welcome to gather starting at 3:30. Interment private.
