Mary Lou Levay

Mary Lou Levay

If Mary Lou put her mind to it, rest assured it would be accomplished; she was a determined woman. She worked in retail for many years primarily at Kings Department Store and held just about every position all the way up to Department Manager. After it closed, she found her way to the Delran Kmart where she was Store Manager for a few years and later brought her warmth to the Magowan Elementary School as a lunch lady. Of course, even though she worked many a job, she found her real calling late in life. Mary Lou was a grandmother for the ages; she could spoil like no other. Christmas was definitely her time of year: Mary Lou loved the holidays, her house decorated to the hilt inside and out and thousands of cookies that she baked for everyone. If her T.V. was on, she’d be checking out Wheel, Jeopardy and Price in Right and she travelled quite a bit in her earlier years.
In her earlier years she worked at Penn Mutual Insurance Company. It’s there that she’d meet a handsome guy. Mary Lou and the late David shared a 61-year marriage blessed by 2 sons, David (Nancy) and Bruce and later by grandchildren, Kevin (Savina) and Amanda (Edward) McDonnell; and great grandchildren, Theo, Kellen, and Charlotte.
