Rosemarie Ree Morrison Matthews

Big things come in little packages. Ree was the family prankster: she hid her brother’s underwear in the freezer, on trips back home she’d move the neighbor’s watering can for days, putting it back when she would return to Indiana. rnBut her mischief aside she had a big heart. She was active at her church and gave much of her time to groups including Autism Speaks, Genesis Church Shelter, and the Local Hero Program. Being a fashionista, My Sister’s Closet became her favorite charity. She used her talents to put together outfits for less fortunate women going for job interviews.rnRee was a Swedesboro girl who got transplanted to Bloomington, IL twenty years ago. Her ties here were strong and augmented by burning up the phone lines to keep abreast of family news. She returned at least once a year, usually taking the time to dip her feet in the water on the Jersey beaches.rnHer love of the shore yielded more than just a nice tan and salt water taffy. In Wildwood she’d meet a Navy guy named Steve. He was visiting another girl, but Ree soon lured him away. Their 32 year union was blessed by a son, Ian, daughters, Leah and Rachel, two granddaughters, Madison and Lillian Ortega, She is also survived by her mother, Margaret Nolte Morrison, brothers, Robert (Pat) and Christian, sisters: Roxanne Boucher (Jeffery) and Debbie (Tom) Harker and many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by her father Walt Morrison.rnRosemarie died at home in Indiana on August 7 and services were held there.rnDonations to Genesis Church Homeless Shelter 801 E.
