Sandy made sure her home was warm and welcome. It was the house for all the neighborhood kids; most stayed through the weekend. Safe and secure but, most importantly, she had the best snacks. She was meant to be a mom and had the good fortune to share a dress size with her daughter; their clothing went back and forth. You couldn’t doubt her love but Sandy didn’t like to risk it: “I love you forever and a day” she’d say before hanging up the phone. A stray cat or kitten could have no better luck than to find its way to her doorstep. She’d nurse them back to health and give them a place to stay for a few decades. If she got loose from the area, she’d be off to North Wildwood and Cape May , soaking in a little sun on the beach, and of course dolphin watching. She had an unconditional love for them. And her garden was just for looks, sporting all kinds of flowers and plants.
In high school a handsome guy named Steven was smitten with her. He was persistent and got her to go to a Chester Ave dance with him. That date led to a 34-year marriage. Sandy was blessed with a daughter, Shelby (Matthew) and is survived by sisters: Cheryl and Stacy; her parents, Harry (Jeannie) Fleming; a nephew, Tom and great nephew, Ricky, nieces, Shannon and Heather and great nieces, Chloe and Kaylee Richardson. She was predeceased by her mother Joan Tindall
