He was the kind of guy who didn’t mind weekend’s and late nights at work. In fact, Tom thrived on it. But he had a lifetime love of work from the days of his youth when he washed dishes, worked at a car wash and later turned a wrench at a repair shop. This, of course, led to his lifelong love affair with muscle cars, and the added benefit of a son who raced at Atco. And his mechanic skills came in handy when family and friends were in a bind. As much as Tom loved working, the people who worked under him loved working for him even more. As the operations manager for JCI Data Processing, he made it a joyous place to be. After they went out of business in 2004 his friendships never faded. But if he had a role he liked even more it was that of being a father: he was the roller-coaster dad taking his kids off to all kinds of amusement parks and every imaginable vacation spot from the Poconos to Disney to Wildwood. You can take the boy out of Delco but you can’t take the Delco out of the boy. Tom never lost his love for pizza from Pica’s and burgers from Charlie’s. Down the shore he’d seek out Woody’s, Menzas and Uries.
A pretty girl named Joan caught his eye in high school. After graduation he’d give her a call and ask her out. The date led to nuptials and a marriage blessed by two sons, Michael and Thomas (Ashley). He is survived by his sisters, Cynthia Dugan and Patricia DellaRova (Dan); his sister in law, Christine Gorsop, nieces, Kiersta Gorsop-Pachuta (Paul), Meghan Dugan-Korb (Zach) and nephews, Nic DellaRova (Lauren), Joseph Dugan and Todd Gorsop; his cousins, especially David Stanton (Claire) and Carolyn LeBlanc (Greg) and Nancy Buckovina and several great-nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Shirley Gibb McHugh, his step father, Joseph McHugh, his brother, Martin J. Gorsop, his nephew, Jeffrey Gorsop, his grandparents, George and Lillian Gibb and his aunt, Patricia Gibb-Stanton.
