Of Mt. Laurel, died January 8 at home. He was born in Hoboken and went through the school system graduating from A.J. Demarect High School. Shortly after graduation he was drafted and served in WWII in the Air Force as a radio operator in the 312th Troop Carrier Command.rn Tom was very active at St. Francis Parish in Hoboken, serving as president of the Holy Name Society, was voted by the parishioners to serve as Parish Council Representative to the Diocese of Newark, spent 20 years working Bingo and served four terms as Parish Council President.rn Tom was an avid basketball player and also loved baseball and softball. He coached the St. Francis C.Y.O. team to three championships.rn Tom was a graduate of St. Peter’s College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Tom was working as the accounting manager for Maxwell House Coffee when he retired in 1987. Tom then moved down to Mt. Laurel and became active at St. Peter’s Church. He served on the Parish Council, worked the yearly carnivals, worked Bingo for 20 years and worked and managed the Parish Office for 10 years.rn He is survived by his brother, Anthony and numerous nieces and nephews.rnCome celebrate 85 great years Wednesday 2-4 PM and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside.
