Her email address was an indicator of her love for animals: tina.dog.horse. From the days of her youth, Tina’s passion was horses. She did English riding and gave lessons on riding and grooming. Perhaps her greatest joy was being able to rescue a few of her four-legged friends. She also had a special touch with children with special needs; Tina could make connections when no one else could. But she will be most remembered for her strength: when she fell ill her doctors made many predictions about her future; Tina would accomplish so much more than they could have ever imagined. She was independent, an inspiration to others and a role model to the kids she worked with. If her T.V. was on she’d be binge watching Yellowstone (probably for the horses), she loved every kind of music from metal to easy listening and she sang a little karaoke. She was a 1990 graduate of Riverside High and was a special education teacher for many years.
She was the fiancé of Wayne Parks; daughter of Andrew and Eileen Elliott; the sister of the late Donna Griffin (Bernie) and Stephen (Dawn) Elliott; stepmother of Hayley and Trevor Parks; and aunt of Andrew and Cole Elliott.
Come celebrate 50 great years Monday 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday 10-11 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be an 11 a.m. service.

I am so sorry to hear of Tina’s passing. She was an amazing woman. She made an impact on each person that she meet. She will be missed by her students, friends and four legged friends as well.
The world will be duller without you in it my friend. I know that you are in your happy place with Donna, but you will be so missed.
Tina was one of the most important and influential people in my life. She showed me what being strong really meant. It was a privilege to help her with her beloved horses, and I loved doing it. On Monday and Tuesday, Tina’s family is going to hear over and over what an impact she made on everyone she came in contact with and it will all be true. Tina was the whole package… kind, loving, funny. She made everyone she came in contact with a better person. I was blessed to have known her.
