Cecilia’s life was a tapestry woven with diverse interests and passions. She found joy in the simplicity of crossword puzzles and the creativity of TV cooking shows. Always impeccably dressed, she carried herself with grace and elegance, earning admiration from all who crossed her path.

In the kitchen, Cecilia was a culinary artist. Known for her health-conscious approach, she lovingly prepared nutritious meals, with a specialty in soups that delighted the taste buds of family and friends alike. Her holiday gatherings were a testament to her pride in creating a beautiful table and fostering traditional sit-down celebrations.

Beyond the kitchen, Cecilia’s hobbies included photography, a passion that earned her prizes and membership in prestigious art galleries. She found delight in visiting art shows, appreciating the beauty that surrounded her.

Cecilia embraced her Catholic faith with fervor, living as a devout Catholic and proudly serving as a secular Franciscan. Her commitment to her beliefs earned her the reputation of being an angel and a saint among those who knew her.

Cecilia’s passion extended to her relationships. She was unwaveringly passionate about those she loved and fiercely defended what she believed was right. As a strict yet loving parent, she earned the title of a good mom, providing guidance and support to her family.

Travel was another cherished aspect of Cecilia’s life. For over 30 years, she and her beloved husband explored the autumn beauty of Stowe, Vermont, spending two weeks each fall at their time share in the Trapp Family Lodge. Bus trips for art-related adventures and journeys out west to visit churches and cathedrals were also highlights of their shared experiences

Central to Cecilia’s heart was her husband, her sweetheart, and the love of her life. Their enduring love story, spanning an incredible 71 years, was a testament to the depth of their connection and the bond they shared.

Cecilia is survived by her 2 children: Edwin (Denise) Shinn and Carri (Tony) Carucci; grandchildren: Edju (Krystle), Leah (Derrick), Nathan (Aubrey), Tony, Kaitlyn (Josh), Trista (Dillwyn), Kala, and Zach; great-grandchildren: Anthony, Tyler, Jayden, Isabella, Nathan, Emma, McKenzie, Dillwyn, Jack Henry, and AnnaLea; great-great grandchildren: Grayson and Leo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is predeceased by her parents Mary Frances (Griesser) Ellis and Paul Carroll Ellis, and three sisters and one brother.

Come celebrate 96 great years on Wednesday, January 24th from 9am to 10am at Resurrection Parish (St. Casimir site). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Interment at 2:30pm at Brigadier William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown NJ.

    Sorry for your loss. I was just told an hour ago from someone who knows Eddie, so I looked on Sweeney and here we are. I will have the memory of Mrs.Shinn and Carri walking together down the ramp at Riverdel in the Sixtys, forever etched in time. A lovely family at Riverdel where I met the family.
