Robert Joseph McNulty Jr. “Bobby”
Bobby was a hardworking, family man whose unique personality left an unforgettable impression on everyone who knew him. Eccentric in the best possible way, Bobby had a way of doing things all his own. During his younger years, he attended Riverside and played football, earning the nickname “The Nut.” Bobby was never the type of father who believed in being overly strict. Instead, he wanted his children to experience life, get outside, and have fun along the way. He took them on adventures that became the stories they would tell for years to come, from digging up “mummies” and going turtle hunting to canoeing.
Bobby enjoyed running, building gardens, and going to the movies. He loved music of all kinds and could appreciate just about any style. He also found great joy in the kitchen, where he especially liked making homemade pasta and his famous chocolate chip cookies.
Robert was someone who always showed up. He was dedicated to attending sporting events, not only for his own children and grandchildren, but for his extended family as well. If someone he loved was playing, Bobby wanted to be there cheering them on. His grandchildren held a particularly special place in his heart, and to them, he was affectionately known as Pop-Pop. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with them, especially when it meant making memories together. Family trips to the Pines, Long Beach Island, and Seaside were among the adventures they shared.
Bobby is survived by his children: Michael (Shelley) McNulty, Brian (Kathleen) McNulty, and Jennifer McNulty; his grandchildren: Trevor McNulty, Madison McNulty, Nicholas McNulty, Logan McNulty, Matthew McNulty, Ava Harris, Jeneija Harris, Greyson Murray-McNulty, Kaylee (Kyle) Knapp, Jaxon Knapp and Rayven Mosley; his siblings: Eva Zoll and Marie Pippin; predeceased by his parents Robert and Eugenia McNulty and his sister Laura Galdo; and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held on Tuesday September 8 from 8am-10am at Sweeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside NJ 08075, where there will be a 10am service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Support.woundedwarriorproject.org
