Lorraine Hunsberger, age 95, of Delran, passed away peacefully. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on September 4, 1930, she was the daughter of the late James and Alice Dwyer. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard M. Hunsberger and the loving mother of the late Howard J. Hunsberger.
Lorraine grew up in Philadelphia. She met a boy named Howard when she was 14 years old. They started dating and there was never anyone else for the two of them. They married when they were both 20 years old and moved to Delran 7 years later where they lived out their lives.
Lorraine was an outgoing, social person. She loved going on vacation with her family to Wildwood every August. As she got older, she loved it when the grandkids and great grandkids would visit. She was an active member of the Delran Senior Citizens Club where she served as membership chairman for several years. She was also a very good cook. The whole family agreed that nobody could cook a roast beef dinner like she could.
Lorraine worked for many years as a secretary for Ruth and Don Isolda at Isolda Real Estate in Delran. When the Isolda’s retired, she then worked as a secretary for their son, Richard Isolda, Attorney at Law, until she retired.
Lorraine is survived by her sister Kay Hiles (the late Jim) of Florida; her daughter Kay (Jim) Garbe of Delaware; her grandchildren Jason Hunsberger (Katie), Michael and Jim Garbe (Liz); her great grandchildren Ryan (Sierra) and Kyle Hunsberger and Trey and Grace Garbe; and her great great granddaughter Vivienne Hunsberger.
Come celebrate 95 great years on Thursday, August 20th, from 9am-11am where there will be an 11am service at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Interment immediately to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s
