James “Jim” A. Renshaw Sr.

James ‘Jim’ A. Renshaw Sr. passed away on November 19, 2023, in Riverside, NJ, at the age of 89. He was born on January 12, 1934, in Pennsauken, NJ.

Jim is survived by his children James Renshaw Jr. (Denise Sullivan), Joseph Renshaw, Elaine (Dale) Nixon, Nancy (Frank) Piazza, Diann Lisnak, Richard Renshaw (Dawn Mader), Karen (Ted) Brann. Also survived by 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister Margaret (Harry); daughter in law Daria Lutgen; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years, Marie (née Kunteski), his son David, 2 siblings;  his parents Anthony and Veronica Renshaw; and his son-in-law Joe Lisnak.

Jim was a prominent figure in the Riverside community throughout his life. From his early years as a star quarterback at Riverside High School, where he led the team to the championship in 1953, to his roles as a scoutmaster, PAL football coach, president of PAL, and member of the RHS Board of Education, he dedicated himself to the betterment of his community. His contributions were recognized with an induction into the Riverside Hall of Fame.

Beyond his community involvement, Jim was a devoted family man who cherished spending time with his large family. He had a passion for Philadelphia sports teams, enjoyed trips to LBI and the Outer Banks, and was known for cooking hearty breakfasts for his family on the weekends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 9am-10am at Resurrection Parish, Riverside NJ. (St Casimir site). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests considering donations to the American Diabetes Association, a cause close to Jim’s heart.
