Jonathan William Preston

Jonathan William Preston

On April 19, 2024, lifelong Delanco resident Jonathan William Preston passed away at his home. Jonathan, the youngest of his siblings, was a kind, caring, and beautiful soul. Even at a young age he knew how to light up a room, his smile and laughter were contagious. Everyone that met him was instantly his friend and he was loved by all. His magnetic personality drew people and even animals to him, he even had a groundhog and rabbits following him around the yard.

Jon was extremely creative and a great problem solver. A talented craftsman: in ninth grade he built a hologram that won 4th place in a national competition. Earlier years found him working as an electrician. If something was broken, you would find Jon at your door ready to help fix the problem.

He was an amazing listener, a storyteller, and would often share his wisdom: truly an old soul. He loved his Boost, the Grateful Dead, and his Shelby Mustang. But he was most passionate about his family.

Known as Munchkin, aka Munch, Jonathan was an amazing brother and uncle. His fun-loving spirit never waivered as he made many memories with his nephews and niece. He was a bringer of joy and laughter to the family.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents, William John Preston Jr and Linda Jean (Houghton) Preston. He is survived by his siblings: Wendy Jean (Rob) Preston-Breen, Sandra Jean Preston, and William John (Karen) Preston IV. He is the uncle of William John Preston V, Denise Nicole Preston-Leighton, John William-Donald Preston, Joseph William Preston, Patrick Francis Breen, James Francis Breen, and Jesse Francis Breen and many great nieces and nephews.

He was an angel walking amongst us every day.

Join us in celebrating 48 years of life Saturday, April 27, 2024, 8:00am – 10:00am at Sweeeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside, NJ. There will be a 10:00am service and interment to follow at Oddfellows Cemetery, 4527 US-130, Burlington, NJ.
