Joseph R. Sileo

Joseph R. Sileo

Family was everything for Joe especially his children. People loved being around him due to his fun loving, charismatic nature. He would often be found down at his shore house in Delaware enjoying time at the beach, fishing and crabbing. If not at the beach, Joe could be found playing golf or enjoying a good cigar. He was a jack of all trades who was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever things needed to be fixed. This translated into his meticulously kept property. Joe’s Golden Retriever Ben was always by his side. He was a friend of Bill’s making lifelong friends along the way. If his TV was on he’d most likely be watching Fox News or Deadliest Catch. He loved music and his tastes varied from Frank Sinatra to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, country, and the hits of the 50s 60s 70s.

Joe is survived by his children, Samantha and Christopher Sileo, his girlfriend Dawn Reitemeyer and her children, Scott and Paige Reitemeyer; as well as, aunts, uncles, cousins, and an abundance of friends who were much more like family to Joe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Claire (Kaelin) Sileo, and his brother, Raymond J. Sileo Jr. Due to the current pandemic, services will be announced and held at a later time. The family is encouraging donations to The Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice of South Jersey and the American Cancer Society.

My heartfelt and deepest condolences to all family and friends. I’m so glad that I wasn’t a fish or a dear when Joe was around :-). He loved his hunting and fishing. And he was good at it. Joe was dedicated to helping friends always and inspired me to be a better person. This is a great picture of Joe and reminds me of him exactly. God bless you all for being there for him through his grueling battle. Dawn! – You were amazing through all of this. Incredible!

Without Joe I might not be here enjoying life as I know it. I did not believe him at first But he had enough faith for the both of us. He loved me till I could love myself. He was a great sponsor, amazing man and good friend. He showed me compassion, strength and hope at my time of need. I will always remember driving in the woods spotting deer with him. My condolences go to his Son and Daughter as well as Dawn
