Richard Assante

Richard Assante

December 14, 1956 – February 20, 2024

When you needed a hand, you, knew who to call: Richard was a shirt off his back kind of guy. He loved family gatherings. Of course, he didn’t need a gathering to reach out; he just enjoyed keeping in touch. He cheered for all the Philly teams and played a lot of softball and basketball in his youth. He even managed a couple of teams over the years. It may have just been for the comradery; he enjoyed a couple post-game drinks with the guys as much as the actual game. Later years found him supporting his nieces’ sporting events. He liked going down the shore but wasn’t particularly fond of the beach and he was always up for a concert, especially Rush and KISS. He was a resident of Edgewater Park.

Richard is survived by his siblings: Jim (Diane) Assante, Thomas Assante, Robert Assante, and Theresa Assante Russell; his nieces: Ashley (Kevin), Hannah, and Hailey: his great-niece Brexley; and many cousins, friends, and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Ferdinand and Theresa Assante.

Family will celebrate 67 great years privately.
