Theresa “Terri” Fitch

Terri was a woman whose life was defined by a fierce, doting devotion to her family and a spirited love for her community. She leaves behind a legacy of “full involvement”—a reminder that being present is the greatest gift one can give.

A 1980 graduate of Burlington City High School, Terri embraced life with energy, kindness, and a strong sense of purpose. In 1982, she married the love of her life, the late Ray Fitch, beginning a remarkable 40-year marriage built on love, laughter, and unwavering partnership. While they started their journey together as free spirits, the arrival of their three children transformed them into the quintessential “super parents.” Together, they dedicated themselves entirely to supporting every dream, practice, game, and milestone, rarely missing a basketball game, soccer match, or school event. Terri became the family’s logistical anchor—the one who always had a plan, made sure everyone was where they needed to be, and somehow made it all look effortless.

Her dedication to children naturally extended beyond her own family. Terri spent many years as a beloved classroom assistant within the Edgewater Park School District, where she became a familiar and comforting presence to countless students, teachers, and families. She was known for her willingness to lend a helping hand, her patience, and her genuine care for every child who walked through the classroom doors. The EdgewaterPark community became home, and Terri became one of its most recognizable and cherished faces.
As the years passed, Terri found her greatest joy in becoming “Nan” to her granddaughters, Bella and Ellie. They were the center of her world. Whether she was picking them up from school every single day, cheering them on, spoiling them with love, or simply spending time together, being their grandmother was the role she treasured most. The love she poured into her grandchildren reflected the same unwavering devotion that defined every chapter of her life.

Terri will be remembered for showing up—for her family, her friends, her students, and her community. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, endless support, and the quiet but powerful reminder that the greatest gift we can give one another is our time and presence.

Terri is survived by her three children, Randy (Marissa), Tim, and Brianna (Eric); Granddaughters Isabella and Elianna; and her siblings Karen Beatty (John), Andrew Feltwell (Helga) and Marriette Petitpas (Jim), along with many nieces and nephews. Services will be private under the direction of Sweeney Funeral Home, Beverly.
