Victor J. Watson, Sr.

Victor was a hard-working guy and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He kept a good edge on his lawn and his pool was always ready for a swim. Victor was an avid sports fan, player, and coach. He played basketball and football for the Riverside Rams. He coached his sons’ youth baseball teams to multiple championships. The kids cherished the post-game trips to the custard stand. Victor loved spending time with his grandchildren, attending their sporting and school events, and making them baked macaroni and cheese and his famous grilled cheese sandwiches. He maintained friends for a lifetime, especially those from the Riverside Class of ’51. He served our country in the army during the Korean War stationed in Chinon France and cheered for his beloved Eagles.

Sophomore year at Riverside High he met a pretty girl named Shirley Leon. The two wed during a July 4th leave from the military.
